PRX Derm Perfexion vs. PRX-PLUS vs. PRX C: Which One Is Right for You?
9/16/2026
If you've been following along on Instagram, you've probably noticed I offer three different PRX treatments, and I get asked regularly which one someone actually needs. The truth is, they're not interchangeable. Each one is built for a different skin concern, and picking the right one makes a real difference in your results.
Here's how I break it down for my patients here in Fishers, IN.
What They Have in Common
First, an important distinction: none of these are chemical peels. All three treatments come from the same WiQo technology platform, and all three are what's called topical biostimulators. Topical biostimulators work by triggering your skin's own collagen and elastin production from within, rather than exfoliating or removing surface layers of skin the way a traditional peel does. That's why none of these cause the visible peeling, redness, or downtime people associate with peels. You walk out with your normal routine intact.
Beyond that shared foundation, each formula is built differently, and each one is designed for a different job.
PRX Derm Perfexion: The Foundation
PRX Derm Perfexion is the original formula: a blend of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), hydrogen peroxide, and kojic acid. Think of this as your maintenance and prevention treatment.
Best for:
- Younger skin or early signs of aging
- General tone, texture, and hydration
- Patients who want a "reset" before an event or as regular maintenance between more aggressive procedures
- Anyone new to biostimulating treatments who wants to start with the gentlest option
This is usually where I start patients who don't have significant sun damage, deep wrinkles, or pigmentation concerns yet - it's about keeping skin looking healthy and delaying visible aging, not correcting something that's already advanced.
PRX-PLUS: The Advanced Option
PRX-PLUS builds on the original formula but swaps in a modified acid (ammonium trichloroacetate) combined with homocysteic acid plus phytic and citric acids, which adds stronger brightening and collagen-stimulating power.
Best for:
- Mature, thicker, or photoaged skin
- Deeper wrinkles
- Stubborn pigmentation that hasn't responded to gentler treatments
- Patients who want more noticeable lifting and brightening in fewer sessions
If Derm Perfexion is prevention, PRX-PLUS is correction. It's still needle-free with no real downtime, but it's formulated to go further for skin that needs more.
PRX C: The Glow Reset
PRX C shares the same ATCA and homocysteic acid base as PRX-PLUS, so it's still stimulating collagen and elastin production, but it adds high-potency Vitamin C to the formula, which shifts what it's best used for.
Best for:
- Skin that looks dull, gray, or environmentally stressed
- Patients dealing with sun exposure, pollution, or a rough season for their skin
- Frequent travelers: cabin air, time zone changes, and climate shifts take a visible toll
- Anyone who wants radiance and resilience back alongside the same collagen-building benefits
I often recommend PRX C as a standalone "reset" treatment, or layered in between rounds of Derm Perfexion or PRX-PLUS to keep skin looking bright between more corrective sessions.
So Which One Do You Need?
Here's the short version:
- Prevention, general maintenance, younger skin ->PRX Derm Perfexion
- Deep wrinkles, stubborn pigmentation, mature/photoaged skin -> PRX-PLUS
- Dullness, fatigue, environmental stress, travel -> PRX C
That said, this is exactly the kind of decision that benefits from an actual conversation rather than guessing based on a blog post. Skin concerns overlap, which is why I don't mix formulas within a series; instead, we identify the right formula for your specific concerns upfront, and you complete the full series with that one.
